Christopher J. Bowman
As a founding member, Mr. Bowman is responsible for client affairs at Gentry Wealth Management. In this role, he specializes in building client relations and developing and maintaining their financial plans.
Mr. Bowman affirms that true success in financial consulting comes by completely understanding the client, their goals and their objectives, and applying that knowledge to each and every recommendation.
Prior to joining Gentry Wealth Management, Mr. Bowman was in the investment banking industry for 13 years. He was actively involved in guiding companies through the many phases of their corporate lifecycle that included equity financing, private placements, and bridge loans. Mr. Bowman brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a strong work ethic to the company.
In 1989, he graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Bowman moved to Australia at age four where he spent the next eight years. He has traveled extensively, eventually relocating to Arizona in 2002 with his wife and their two children. He enjoys traveling, snow skiing, and scuba diving.
Aaron P. Brodt, CIMA
Chief Investment Officer
Aaron Brodt is the Chief Investment Officer of Gentry Wealth Management, as well as one of the Founding Members. Mr. Brodt has a passion for designing and implementing creative financial solutions for his clients, including multi-generational estates and asset management. He is committed to achieving unsurpassed client satisfaction through the delivery of the highest quality, value-added investment management and financial planning services for professionals, business owners, corporate executives and other individuals of substantial income and/or assets. His professionalism and analytical skills are ideally matched to helping clients achieve their financial goals through the development of structured, goal driven investment strategies and portfolios.
Prior to starting Gentry Wealth Management, Mr. Brodt was a Financial Analyst at ConocoPhillips, the third-largest integrated energy company in the United States. There he was responsible for analyzing the price of gas and oil on the trading floor of the corporate division.
Mr. Brodt graduated with honors from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and a Minor degree in Management, while playing basketball as a Scholar Athlete. Mr. Brodt has also obtained the prestigious designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), administered by Investment Management Consultants Association SM and taught in conjunction with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Aaron is a member of the Financial planning Association (FPA), and the Investment Management Consultant Association (IMCA).
Born and raised on the family ranch in Bozeman, Montana, Mr. Brodt relocated to Arizona in 1985, where he enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Heidi. They enjoy traveling, skiing and spending time with their families.
Zachary S. Brodt
Mr. Brodt has been a Financial Planning Consultant for Gentry Wealth Management since its inception. He focuses on developing client relationships and their individualized financial plans. In addition to Mr. Brodt’s expertise in the financial field, he is well-versed in estate planning techniques and strategies. As part of his role with the firm, he conducts workshops and seminars to educate retirees on a variety of investment topics. Prior to joining Gentry Wealth Management, Zachary spent two years as a Planning Consultant for a large estate planning firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mr. Brodt holds securities, insurance, and investment advisor licenses. At Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey of School of Business, Mr. Brodt graduated Summa Cum Laude earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting. While a student, he played college basketball and worked for UBS as a brokerage team member, assisting in client relationships and account management. Born and raised in Bozeman, Montana. Zachary relocated to Arizona in 1987 with his family when his father accepted a prestigious position in the banking industry.
He currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, enjoys golfing, and values his time with his young daughter.
Adam Sellens brings a level of client service that is nothing less than exceptional to his role as a Wealth Advisor at Gentry. His proactive and hands-on approach to relationship management has given him a sharp focus on his clients¹ goals and vision for financial success through the development of highly-customized and integrated wealth management strategies. He strongly believes in educating a client, not just advising, allowing clients to have a clear expectation of their investment strategy and performance.
Born and raised in Alaska, Mr. Sellens spent his early years as a deck hand of a fishing boat, which has infused a strong work ethic into him. After his studies at Northern Arizona University, he began his career by way of investment banking in New York. Prior to joining the Gentry Companies, Mr.Sellens spent 10 years with Fidelity Investments, most recently in Scottsdale, Arizona as a Financial Planning Consultant, where he managed over $750 million in assets for 1200 clients. While at Fidelity Investments, Mr. Sellens received many awards for his superior management of his clients¹ relationships. He later went on to open Platinum Trusted Advisors, his own wealth management firm as a branch office for Cambridge Investment Research, where he continued to work on the Fidelity platform with a private client group for four years. There he was appointed to be part of the Fidelity 2009 Advisor Council for outstanding service to his clients.
Mr. Sellens and his wife Rachel have 3 children Alexis, Kemper, Pyper, and are expecting their 4th child in 2011. As a family they enjoy spending time outdoors both here in Arizona and on frequent family trips to his native Alaska.
Scott W. Reed
Scott Reed brings over 14 years of industry expertise to Gentry Wealth Management, specializing in retirement income planning, wealth preservation, portfolio management, and estate & legacy planning for his clients.
Prior to joining Gentry Wealth Management, Mr. Reed spent 10 years with Fidelity Investments, most recently as a Vice President and Senior Account Executive in the Private Client Group. He was responsible for managing over 500 high net worth client relationships exceeding $850 million in total assets.
Mr. Reed received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University after returning from a 24-month long volunteer mission in the Dominican Republic, which allowed him to develop a solid fluency in Spanish. Raised in a military family, he has lived in many areas of the country, ultimately calling Washington State home for the better part of 15 years.
Mr. Reed currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife, Sarah, and their seven children. Outside of work, you would likely find him spending time outdoors or vacationing with his family. He has a passion for music and sang in a jazz choir in both high school and college. He enjoys skiing, golf, and basketball, along with many other sporting activities. Scott also serves as a volunteer in several non-profit organizations.
Clark Morzelewski specializes in retirement planning, income management, philanthropic planning, and estate and legacy planning. Mr. Morzelewski brings more than 16 years of industry experience working with high net worth families to the Gentry Wealth Management team.
Prior to joining Gentry, Clark served as Vice President and Senior Account Executive with Fidelity Investments where he managed more than 350 client relationships with a combined net worth in excess of $1 billion. While at Fidelity he received the President’s Award on multiple occasions, recognizing his outstanding client relationships.
After serving as a missionary for his church in Tempe, Arizona, Mr. Morzelewski received a Business degree from the University of Phoenix. When not in the office, Mr. Morzelewski enjoys playing golf and racquetball. He is also very involved in the community serving on the Alumni Board of the David Eccles School of Business at University of Utah, The Canyons Education Foundation Board, as well as The Planned Giving Community at Intermountain Medical and Research Foundation. He dedicates much of his free time carrying out his family’s own philanthropic endeavors. Clark and his wife Christine have three sons: Alex (8), Braxton (5), and Jameson (3).
Marcus Moreno has been handling financial planning and taxation issues for several high profile athletes and celebrities for more than 20 years. Practicing as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Arizona since 1988, he brings an extensive amount of industry experience to the Gentry Wealth Management team.
Mr. Moreno has developed a unique approach to tackling complex taxation and financial hurdles, and works collaboratively with clients, advisors, and attorneys. As he helps to develop and implement targeted wealth management plans, he prides himself on researching and educating his fellow advisors and clients. Further, Marcus is bilingual in English and Spanish, and has helped streamline communications among some of our foreign clients.
Prior to joining Gentry, Mr. Moreno worked as an executive at AXA Advisors and Ameriprise Financial Services. A graduate of Arizona State University, Marcus is now married, has two wonderful daughters, and lives happily in the Phoenix area.
David Humphrey is a Certified Financial Planner® specializing in retirement planning, wealth preservation, and estate planning. Mr. Humphrey has been working with high net worth families for nearly 20 years. He enjoys working closely with his clients to gain a better understanding of how he can best help them achieve their goals. Mr. Humphrey knows that completely understanding a client’s goals and objectives is key to a successful plan. He has a passion for the market and helping clients create and maintain financial wealth.
Prior to joining Gentry Wealth Management, Mr. Humphrey spent 18 years with Fidelity Investments. During his tenure with Fidelity he worked in Utah, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Nevada. Most recently he worked with Fidelity’s high net worth group where he managed relationships with over 400 households and $1.2 billion in assets. Mr. Humphrey started in the insurance industry prior to his tenure with Fidelity.
Mr. Humphrey has a Bachelor of Science degree from Westminster College where he double majored in Marketing and Communications. He has lived in Las Vegas for the last eight years with his wife of 22 years, Terri, and two children, Andrew (14) and Ashley (9). They spend family time supporting youth soccer, scouting, and the March for Babies charity. Mr. Humphrey is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling with his family.
Taiya M. Thompson
Taiya Thompson is a Certified Financial Planner bringing more than 16 years of industry experience to Gentry Wealth Management. Mrs. Thompson navigates affluent individuals, families and business owners through the planning process to create a wealth strategies plan that addresses investment strategy and portfolio management, risk management, assuring lifestyle and income streams, income tax and estate tax reduction, succession and exit planning for business owners, special needs planning and the many facets of estate and philanthropic planning. Mrs. Thompson believes in the concept of collaboration and holistic planning to bring order and peace of mind to her clients affairs so they are free to focus on what is important to them, their families and communities.
Prior to joining Gentry, Mrs. Thompson spent 14 years with Fidelity Investments. During her tenure she worked in Utah, California and Nevada. Most recently she worked with Fidelity’s Private Client Group serving as the Vice President and Senior Account Executive where she managed and planned for more than 500 clients with a combined net worth in excess of $1 billion. Mrs. Thompson started in the banking industry prior to her tenure at Fidelity.
Mrs. Thompson studied Business Finance at California State University at Northridge. She is an active member of the Financial Planning Association and National Organization of Women Business Owners. Her and her husband, Jimmy, have two children, Kasia and Kian who is with Down syndrome. Mrs. Thompson sits on the board of the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada serving as Treasurer and volunteers with several other community organizations. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling to music festivals, vacationing with the family, being a pageant mom and road biking.
Marty Bender has joined Gentry as a Wealth Advisor after spending over 15 years working for Fidelity Investments. His formative years in the industry were with Fidelity in Salt Lake City. After four years there learning the business, he relocated his family to Gilbert in 2001 to work in the newly formed Chandler, Arizona office where he worked for the next eleven years. He built his business throughout the years, and managed over 450 clients relationships totaling more than $750 million with the firm. His goal is to be considered the most trusted financial advisor for his clients.
Mr. Bender’s approach to client management truly starts with understanding each family as being unique and independent. After understanding a client’s financial situation he helps incorporate strategies to existing plans to maximize the chance for continued success. Having been a Certified Financial Planner since 2004, he subjectively looks at all different aspects to a client’s situation to give them the best options to achieve their goals financially.
Mr. Bender studied Business and Economics at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He originally became interested in financial planning in his early twenties when he made his first investment in a mutual fund with the goal of buying a house. He and his family currently live in Gilbert where they bought a home in 2003. They are currently Sun Devil Club members, and hold season tickets for basketball, a passion that Mr. Bender is currently passing down to his son. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, bowling, traveling, and spending time with extended family that also live in Arizona.
Matt Megin recently joined Gentry Wealth Management’s Las Vegas office, and with him brought over 12 years of financial industry and portfolio management experience. Prior to joining Gentry Wealth Management, Mr. Megin was a Wealth Advisor at Fidelity Investments—managing over $350 million in assets among 420 households. During his career with Fidelity he worked with high net worth individuals in Rhode Island, Nevada, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Over the years Mr. Megin has developed a deep understanding of short, intermediate, and long term financial planning. He takes great pride in helping his clients achieve their goals and plan a legacy by employing factual analyses, unbiased representation, and consistent communication. Mr. Megin believes in a strong Client / Advisor relationship, and does so by building trust, understanding, success, and friendship.
Prior to becoming a Wealth Advisor, Mr. Megin attended Springfield College in Massachusetts where he majored in business management. Growing up just outside of Boston, MA, he maintains residences in Henderson, NV and South Boston, MA, and serves his clients’ needs out of both locations. When he’s not in the office you can find Matt spending time with his family, supporting his nephews’ sports endeavors, or out on the golf course with friends and clients.
